They caught the guy on Sunday, couldn't charge him with burglary as they didn't catch him in the act, but when they searched him they found him in possession of items from 2 other burglaries so they charged him with handling stolen goods he is now on remand. Apparently he was only released from prison on Nov 15th and since he was released the crime in area had more than doubled, police are hoping this time he finally get 5 years, heres hoping

You are missing the point, even a drug addled scrote will notice a prominent cctv camera. They hopefully will burgle you neighbour who is in the same lodge as the chief cunstable and bobs your male relative.
As mentioned next arrest may be the charm.

I would move if I were you BF. But there are some easy things you can do to deter burglars.
Gravel Drive/path
Security lights
Alarm box
Beware the dog sign
chain up the wheelie bin

The police have to decide where to send the cars and if you can help them decide, worth a try.

If he burgles again and gets caught, then it might be the last time.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostWhat good is that going to do? The guy obviously has no respect for the law or getting caught (bearing in mind these stats are the ones he actually go caught for!! Double it for the reality). CCTV helps them catch him, doesn't stop him burgling you.
Look after your stuff, get door locks and other physical stuff will be more use than a camera to watch the scum bag nicking your gear.

The more solid evidence the more likely the rozzers will arrest him and the beak will send him down for a longer stretch.
I'd be tempted to borrow a friend's pet rottie and make a worthy sequel to the Benton/Fenton video.

Swing away Merrill. Merrill... swing away.Originally posted by PAH View PostIf going for direct action:
1. Leave house as if out on your normal routine
2. Re-enter house from other side, unseen
3. Pick up baseball bat and wait
4. Protect your home using reasonable force. One twat over the head should be enough.
(optional) 5. Place untraceable knife in culprits hand while he's out cold, but make sure rozzers arrive before he wakes up with knife in hand.

IP CCTV that is automatically backed up online to prevent against equipment theft is a no brainer if scum live nearby.
Make sure it conforms to whatever requirements the fuzz have for it being admissible as evidence, such as proper date/time stamps.

Pretty much. The camera can be wired or wireless, connected to your home network (if you have one) or internet connection that then stores the live feed on an internet server.
I imagine there are websites offering this service where you can view the stream live from any browser if you don't have the technical ability to rig up your own.
As these types of video clips, where scrotes are caught in the act, often get decent publicity and maybe even go viral, it's worth placing some suitable adverts in the background to either get some free promotion of your own services or an extra revenue stream.
Also, this time of year scrotes go stealing Christmas presents, so have a fake pressie under the tree that contains a cheap GPS tracker (can be made from an old mobile phone that can be tracked online).

Addicts will do anything to feed their addiction. There's only a few ways to deal with addict crime.
1. Lock them up
2. Give them drugs for free
3. Ensure that 10% of all illegal drugs on the market are rapidly lethal
Switzerland uses option 2, and drug-related crime is pretty much non-existent. The number of addicts has also dropped as the addicts live longer and a heroin-addled fifty year-old doesn't carry much "addict-chic", which means it's not so cool to take drugs anymore.
