Just get what my boss has. A Ferrari 296 GTS. Since we live quite close to each other we car pool to go to company events, I've often ridden along. So much nicer that Porsche. Normally in residential areas, he switches to electric so as not to cause unnecessary noise. But at my request he doesn't do that when picking me up or dropping me off.
If only I could work out how to look dignified getting in and out of it.
It's a beautiful piece of engineering. Even if I had the money though (which I do), I wouldn't buy one. I've a different attitude to money - but I do applaud his!

Had been looking at the Audi Karoq, but then noticed that the Porsche is pretty much the same price, under the £40k cut off, with an extra £1500 off from the government.Originally posted by fiisch View Post
An excellent choice.
I have the Porsche Enyaq vRS and it's best family car I've owned as an all-round do-it all daily.
Big heavy hector so not much of a vRS, but any faster and the kids would be painting the inside the same as the asbo green outside...
While I like the shape on the Enyaq, the boot isn't as dog-friendly, which is the primary requirement.

IMO, it's better looking than the latest 370Z.

The older the better as far as I'm concerned. I'd even happily go back to windy windows.
I could even do without PAS at a push. As for screens, no thanks.
When we hire cars on holiday, all I want in terms of frills is aircon, but even the most bog standard models come with screens and driver assist stuff.

We haven't talked about cars for a long time
let's talk about cars
very interesting, I am starting to side with other folk regarding buying a new car, and would rather stay with what I have and not have all of the latest gadgets
the Mack Anne is now two years old and has (the equivalent of) 25 thousand miles and according to the second hand adverts, were we to sell it, the going price is now more than we paid for it two years ago - which is cool - that car is going to be a keeper - thankfully it is as analogue as you can get
the Ex Cinq has (the equivalent of) 55 thousand miles and is 4 and half years old, beautiful car and fully loaded, and also interesting, the depreciation seems to have slowed and might be ticking upwards
and the way the new cars are going with all of buttons being replaced by touch screens, same with the (2021) Ex Cinq, very analogue compared to what's on the market today and what's coming
I have the feeling it's time to hold
what are your thoughts
Milan in 'getting old' mode
p.s. of course the outlier, the Kay Manne is a keeper
