My Brother did that about a year ago, he is now living the dream and coding everyday in his bathrobe.
He is very happy not getting up for the train and being able to do things properly.

Doomed
Well on Tuesday I got a 2 month extension and today we mutual agreed to end the contract at its original date (March 31st) as clientco has just lost a piece of work and now has spare permies that can be used instead.
So its time to finish the software I'm working on, launch the consultancy / software house and with any luck that was my last contract.
