    He was also a diabetic and should have been carrying water and some sweets . Heat can raise or low blood sugar and it can be unpredictable when exercising.

    It sounds like he made a silly decision to take a walk, got disorientated and lost. Very sad indeed. I don't know why you'd do that, in that weather and not at least take water with you. Doesn't matter that it was only supposed to be a short easy walk.
