People turning permie.... how far into setting your quarterly goals and signing up to the company's "Mission statement and values" declaration did you get before you died a little bit inside?

Just reading and remembering it has made me die inside a little
Thank god I'm not dealing with that anymore. For now

My interpretation of Old Greg's comment (I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong) is to do whatever you need to do to earn a living. If there are no contracts, go perm. If contracting is still an option and you can find contracts then stick with it.

... if at all? Has anyone caved and gone back to perm ?
It's not as simple as that
Everyone on here seems to assume perm jobs are a shoe in as a back up
Reality is hiring managers see a contract CV and will pigeonhole
They ask questions about why the candidate is returning to perm
They may suspect the candidate will return to contract when the market picks up
Especially the may the market is at the moment, perm jobs are not guaranteed
In 3rd week - verbal offer of a contract (only 3 months) and a permie gig. Nothing in writing yet. 10000 pimps for every gig - many Pimps with zero gigs - must be lean times for them.
