I see I forgot to wish everybody good night last night. Sorry! For the record, I read more of Death’s End, in which humanity once again finds the Universe to be a bit more complicated than they realised
Lunch has been a leftover pork cutlet in a wholemeal bap with apple sauce
Very changeable weather today. It keeps going extremely gloomy, then turning sunny, then back again. It’s actually starting to look rather Simpsonesque at the moment, but will it last?
About half-an-hour ago there was a thin patch in the cloud towards the east through which the sun, though not visible as such, was able to cast a bright diffuse light. But this mistake has been corrected, and it’s now uniformly grey with a shower spitting light...
This evening’s viewing was the latest episode of Ambulance
And tonight’s reading was more of Death’s End
Monday again tomorrow. But it’ll be Easter at the end of the week! Though a four-day weekend isn’t quite as cool as it used to be, given that I normally...
Lunch earlier was a Pukka steak slice, and tea just now was chicken and chips, said fowl being seasoned enough to make it a bit zingy
Lots of mucking around with the forum import stuff earlier. I ended up having to get vB5 running locally again which was a pain, but it was the only...
It’s another grey start and it's still a bit breezy, though not as much as it was. Therefore, the 6°C we’re getting right now “feels like” -2°; the expected high is 10°, but will presumably also be discounted. The barometers are up a touch at 1015/1023mB...
It’s a windy day, with patches of blue sky to the west but mostly grey to the east - though a patch of blue has just appeared low in the northeast as well. Currently 8°C which is today’s high, but it “feels like” 0°. The barometers are up though, at 1013/1021mB....
Tonight’s major motion picture premiere was The People vs. Larry Flynt (1996) in which a pornographer demonstrates how ridiculous the Constitution of the United States of America is successfully defends his right to free speech. Fair play on the Jerry Falwell defamation case
Tea has been a ribeye steak with fried onions and chips
This was accompanied by E1 of Estonia, a documentary series about the ferry that sank in the Baltic in the 1990s. This is on HBO Max, which has just launched in the UK. I already have their blockbuster stuff like The Wire and...
This afternoon has been largely spent on the new forum stuff, in which I eventually discovered I was falling foul of a decision I made about five years ago
I’ve had to do a lot of work on the import of posts to ensure it goes smoothly, taking into account stuff relating to the...
Lunch has been the rest of the cold roast chicken thighs, as they Needed to be Eaten™. However, for a bit of variety, I gave them a light dusting of Sweet & Smoky BBQ Seasoning and heated them up in the air fryer. They turned out very nicely; I’ll do that again
