Very true.
Many people on LI who are looking for work seem to be very lazy - they see a post by an agent and just reply publicly with "I'm interested, hit me" or some such short phrase.
There are some simple things that people can do (particularly those with a bit of experience),...

Correlation != Causation
If you reduce the number of words in your LI profile, none of the AI bots are going to highlight it as a positive change. If you increase the word count, they see a change and it gets flagged as worth responding to.

His party have offered to pay the cost of the election, because that would be a good bit of publicity. How about the party owners and leaders pay their fair share of tax, rather than running multiple companies on and off shore to avoid it as much as possible. Misty earlier (a bit like yesterday) but it's now burned off.
Even though hot air is supposed to rise, the downstairs of the house is a lot warmer than upstairs. Windows are open, but it appears that local farmers must be muck spreading.

Showing an ability to manage time/expectations and working with multiple levels within a client mean a lot, as does breadth of experience.
I guess it also depends on the type of roles you go for. If you're a Python coder, and there are a thousand of them going for...
