That's the problem with this current generation of AI. It's looking for patterns . You'll need 50 tags and you can't be generic unfortunately I can see why a C++ dev would struggle more on the platform, not because you are less valued but how can you differentiate yourself from another C++ developer...

Some people don't see LI the way I do
it's a mechanism for people to find you via the AI, not a social media platform.

It's a polarised market. The 1,200 EUR a day roles just ain't been posted on the boards and the 850 EUR a day roles are appearing but you gotta dig. I am talking about real roles with a real recruiter at the other end not jobserve spam from an 18 year old fax machine boy with a landline.

sadly,.my linked in feed is full of people looking for work
I will probably log back into LI next April ......

at this stage I would probably ask the agent which answer gives you the best chance of success and offer him a monkey if you get the job....

Yes, you can add tags so the LI AI and the software enabled on the recruiter side of LI can see you properly.
As far as I know the Li algo does not read your CV.
The better way to optimise your tags is to run seperate post and job board searches, record the tags they were searching...

The CV is pretty much dead. Keep one and keep it to two pages but your linkedin profile, with 50 tags, validated and with premium enabled is much more important. Linked in is basically now doing what Jobserve should have done 10 years ago....

Yes. And the U.S economic juggernaught keeps steaming along.
As per the other thread about East Coast U.S and remote roles, I keep being pinged about remote work there but the contract rates are about the same.
Permie rates though, you can double your salary if you move but...

Thanks Andy Hallett I will do that
eek I did contact workwell but they only deal with people who want their EOR in Spain. Unfortunatley under the Spanish Nomad Visa the EOR needs to remain outside of Spain, for obvious reasons (its a teleworker Visa)....

There are actually some good OpenAI youtube videos as well to help you hack your next role.
In terms of linkedin the main things to do:
a) get verified
b) max out your profile tags (it allows the AI to help you better)
c) setup a LI job board search arguments for...

I don't wade through Linkedin myself neither. what you need to do is construct a repeatable set of search terms that allow you to see posts for roles in your chosen IT area.

Hey cookie, if you look under business / contracts and spain nomad visa you will see some of the answers you seek.
Also, I switched almost enitrely to Linkedin premium these past 3 years and use the board and search facility to hunt for roles, the AI on there has improved quite significantly...Last edited by Bluenose; 29 October 2024, 17:56.

UK Umbrella able to register me for Spanish Social Security
Hi, I am looking for a UK umbrella/payroll company that can keep my employer of record (EOR) in the UK but also register me as an employee in Spain for Spanish Social security and run a monthly payroll from GBP (ideally with an option for EUR as well).
My EOR can't be in Spain.

It depends on what floats your boat. I have to make a stand for the contractor way of life because that's what this forum is (mostly) about.
A good mate of mine has had a 3 day per week in the office mandate issued after 12 years of 100% permie remote work.
As a contractor...
