You can't trust them, but you also can't fight them. As others noted, if you want to run a UK company, expect to deal with useless gov't admin and associated risks.

If it worked, you would've found it in your CH account (now GOV.UK One login) under Manage Account > Identify Verification.

You only need that code for specific activities, notably to file your annual confirmation statement (which connects you as a director) and, separately, to verify...

Using an umbrella takes pretty much everything out of your control, unfortunately, including the ability to use a decent FX service with low fees and ~interbank FX rates, like Wise or MoneyCorp or Revolut (yuck). In previous years, box 4 has been total dividend income from all UK companies. Having the decomposition allows a straightforward cross-check with the close company CT return...

Discord, apparently. Wouldn't touch it myself - hasn't been compliant with GDPR in the past, for example.

Probably IPSE will go the same way as their forum, eventually. I am still a member, as they are still competitive for what they offer, but I wouldn't be sorry to see them go - will...

As far as AI is a factor, looking at the recent past and current state is misleading, especially if you're using the free stuff, as the rate of progress is exponential. It's not so much what AI can and cannot do now as what companies believe will be possible in the relatively near future, which is reflected...
