    Morning denizens

The rainy part of the storm has moved on in the night and though it’s still very windy, the sun is shining as the cirrostratus recedes to the east. It’s 5°C but “feels like” -4°, and the expected high for the day is only 9°. The barometers are down to 986/994mB, but expected to rise during the day

      Afternoon all

Bright but cloudy. Breezy. Currently 8 degrees ('feels like' 5) with a high of 9 expected. Chance of light showers. Barometer down to 1001 mBar.

      Sunrise 06:20; Sunset 18:02 GMT

I was woken around 1.45 am to the noise of much wind and rain. I then awoke again well before my alarm on account of the unreasonably early time it now gets bright.

A busier morning than a Friday should warrant, but productive. Many meetings this afternoon, which should also be illegal for a Friday.

Surely meetings are better than actual real work...

Lunch was a cold sausage bap (white)

Before that, I spent a couple of hours dealing with the post import process on the new forum software. Turns out there are a few tricky bits to do with ensuring quotes in posts are updated to point back to the source correctly, and one or two other bits like that

Unfortunately, I somehow managed to do my back in a bit more - it was playing up earlier in the week, but had been OK for the last couple of days. But when I stood up to get lunch, it suddenly complained very vigorously. So I’ve had to switch to the recliner to rest it for a while

Volunteer litter pick this morning, followed by walk with loony lady 1. Had to keep holding her hand while she navigated the mud.

Pleasantly surprised when I filled me van to see diesel cost is only about 10% higher. I thought it would be over 100% like my heating oil.
