They deigned to give us some wildlife repeats today, which were topped up this evening by E1 of Planet Earth III on iPlayer

And tonight, I started reading There Is No Antimemetics Division by qntm, this being the rewritten v2 that was recently published. If you’re familiar with v1 at the SCP Wiki and/or in the self-published editions, you have to get used to the Foundation becoming the Organisation and the SCPs becoming the Unknowns, but there are also some structural changes and certain aspects of the story have been changed, tightened up, and so on. It’s still excellent stuff though

    Goodnight all

      Morning.

      Sunday.

      Dry.

      Grey.

      Wanly hints of sunly.

Chilly in here at 12.8 deg, 11.5 in the kitchen, 8 in the leanto, 6 in the saltinghouse.

1028.75 mBar, 30.38 in Hg, 771.6 Torr, 14.92 psi, (up from 1028.5 last night), 60% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 8th of March 2020 Brillo popped in a lot, LM & NF discussed the best treatment for muscular injuries, whilst all of us discussed the ongoing assorted non covid lurgies with which we were afflicted, and I cooked a very nice piece of beef and an equally nice rice pud.

This morning's excitement was the inexplicable failure of the inner pane of the landing window which smashed itself and deposited glass all over the stairs and the dvd library.

Amazingly enough I managed not to cut my feet whilst searching for the source of the loud bang at 07:30ish, despite all the glass on the stairs.

Cleared away now but I'll have to run the Orange Vax over the stairs to catch all the fine bits of glass that the dustpan & brush missed.

What is life if full of woe, woe, and thrice woe?

Walk (unabbreviated, towpath) walked without an extension to The Gnoll.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: some nutter walking around the world in 27 years for no readily apparent reason.

        Morning denizens

As expected, the grey weather continues. The wind must have dropped a bit though, as the current 5°C only “feels like” 2°. The expected high is 7° later in the afternoon, and the night ahead will be pretty mild too. The barometers are down an amount that makes no difference at 1023/1031mB

Amazon are circling with a couple of parcels, yet no matter how many different parts of the neighbourhood they go to according to the map, they remain seven stops away

          Morning all

Dull. Overcast. Currently 6 degrees with a high of 7 expected. Sun not likely to make an appearance today. Barometer down to 1036 mBar.

          Sunrise 08:48; Sunset 15:50 GMT

HWMBO's dinner was a delicious feast. Many leftovers remain for snacking on. Lazy day today. Back to work tomorrow.

do you live on old mine workings?

I just bought the Video version of colossal cave to cheer my self up (£12.95 - GOG)
I remember long standby support evenings, playing the original on an IBM VM/370 system in 197?.
could be a mistake though, revisiting memories is usually disappointing, as the reality never matches up.

Lunch has been pigs in blankets in finger rolls, again

That’s the last of them, unless I get any more

This was accompanied by E1 of Titanic Sinks Tonight on iPlayer, a new documentary. I assume the title is to be imagined as being bellowed by Poseidon as he swims up towards the surface of the ocean, thrusting his trident upwards and swearing vengeance on the presumptuous White Star Line
