The chemist knocked me back for a Covid jab; apparently I don’t meet the criteria any more, so the nurse who gave me my flu jab had got it wrong

I told them I’d pay for one, but they don’t do private ones! Don’t want to have to go to Boots, but they may be the only option

It did occur to me that they might have told me at the original appointment on Friday and saved me a walk in the drizzle today

Lunch has been a steak slice - Ginster's, as they were out of Pukka ones when I did the shopping

It wasn’t as nice as a proper one; I won’t bother with them again

That’s Monday done! Nineteen more days until I finish for the year

Today went surprisingly well, considering I was very much lacking enthusiasm. I’d worked out various bits over the last week while feeling my way around the project, which depends heavily on code for collecting together and analysing large amounts of data that was written by other people around 2019 to 2020 and has, shall we say, some idiosyncrasies. This afternoon, to my surprise, I was able to quickly pull together various bits from my experimentation and get the whole basis for the planned app up and running! So the next step is largely styling UI components according to the designs

It’s still possible we’ll have to dig deeper into the data-related code that nobody wants to touch if we need a performance boost at a later stage, but we can cross that bridge after we’ve burned it

While on me walky, had a look where I mentioned that that car had ended up in woods. It had hit a tree in a direction about 45 degrees away from direction of road and at least 5m from it. No tracks nearby and no sign of any damage to the bank or any other trees. Only possibility is it hit another vehicle at speed and flew through the air. Seen that happen once on a motorway but can't see how anyone could be doing that speed on a little rural road.

As expected loony lady 2 contacted me to help her with the Roku stick again. Groan!

If someone doesn’t know what is tax deductible, are we sure they’re cut out to be a contractor?

              Evening all

It's been a dull and damp day. Currently 10 degrees and the high was 13. Barometer down to 1005 mBar.

              Sunrise 07:11; Subset 16:19 GMT

Busy day at the coal face. I was in the office today and then picked up HWMBO on the way home. I made him get the staff bus to the office to save me the pick up fee.

Dinner was dim sum eaten while watching mudskipper 's team on Only Connect get a very reputable score and move onto the next round.

I did say at the start of that round that MS should get all of those!

Everyone is so quick (they def introduce a delay for the telly!). Too old and slow.

Got the HTML though - giving myself the credit for that one!

I was in ours at about 4pm and they were offering the guy having his flu jab a free one because it was end of day and they'd be throwing it away (he declined). So next year go in late in the day and you might be in luck

I had an appointment! I had one last Friday at 1pm and when I went, they apologised because they’d run out and rescheduled it for 11am today, and when I went for that, they told me they wouldn’t give me one!
