Lunch earlier was a sausage and bacon baguette (red sauce) - well, half of one, as a whole one seemed a tad excessive, and now I have the other half for another day

Preparation of this was slightly delayed as the baguette was one of those you reheat at home, and furthermore was starting from frozen. I popped it in the oven in plenty of time, but somehow managed to accidentally turn on the oven's child lock a few minutes later, which disabled it when it was still only slightly warm. Once I realised what had happened, I had to go and check the manual to find out how to turn the lock off again

So the sausages and bacon got to rest for a few minutes while the baguette was heated up on the second attempt

Loony lady 3 earlier. Got back to her place and she found she'd left her walking stick in the cafe. Said I'd collect it for her when I went on me walk tomorrow but she insisted we drive all the way back! She drives me nuts!

Mood improved by call in at a local art exhibition where I know a few of the artists. Lovely lady there who's a local burlesque performer. Cor! Chewy she is.

Close shave earlier, had to brake when a child shot right out across the road on a bike. Good job I'd just pulled out of the parking spot and was only doing about 10mph or he could have been killed.

Tea has been brought from the south Indian place past the park. I had one of their curries that I hadn't tried before and it was very nice indeed, albeit very hot

Much dismay among the apes today, for the programme schedulers have cut the wildlife programming back to a mere three hours around teatime

But I found out about the orangutan documentary on Netflix, so I put that on for them this evening

Later, I finished reading Ossian's Ride, which was quite entertaining all in all. And then, as it's in a volume of three Fred Hoyle novels, it was straight on to October the First is Too Late, in which I've just go to the point where it turns weird

          Goodnight all

              Morning denizens

Cloudy out but with some gaps starting to open up, and sunny spells likely. It's 12°C and will get up to 15° this afternoon - but this will be accompanied by a likelihood of rain, varying from 65% to 75% from mid-afternoon through to midnight, and accompanied by a bit of a breeze which is already starting to build up. A rainy Sunday morning in Devon. Max and I have delayed going out for a walk, but I don’t think we can delay any longer. A good excuse to try out my new Fortis trousers.

Magpie on the living room window ledge!

I've never seen a bird on there since I moved here, so it's pretty cool that it was one of the resident magpies rather than one of the multiplicity of pigeons

It completely ignored me though. Didn't even look in

Local lone walk this morning, got back just before rain got too rainy. Managed to find a little pond me and kids used to go to, pretty inaccessible now and full of fallen branches.

Back from another visit to little local art group. Better than dozing around at home.
