I awoke again a little after eleven
I got up late this morning and feel much better, although was only 9 not 11.

Lone day today except maybe call in at village club. Must plan me walky.

After nice walky had couple single vodkas at club, unusual for almost teatotal me. Told I had been spotted in town with a loony lady. Then boring hour cleaning up greenhouse overgrown with bindweed.

There's a Red Lion, opposite Ealing studios? https://www.theredlionw5.com/

I was mooching around Northfields though as I'm now West Ealing based rather than one of the other flavours.

Tedious drive down, much better drive back.

When I arrived, my brother was clearing out the kitchen drawers and cupboards and managed to fill two black bags with tat. There's no shortage of dusters and ice cube bags.

It's been a while since I made a Sunday roast, but tonight's tea has been a roast pork dinner

This included homemade Yorkshire puds. I tried a Mary Berry recipe, though it seemed to me that three eggs were a bit much compared to other recipes; and indeed, Mary has overegged the puddings, meaning they didn't get as crispy as I would have liked. But they were still nice, and it made a batch of a dozen, so the rest will probably turn out better after a cycle of being frozen and then reheated

To watch whilst dining, I've started E1 of Disaster at Sea: The Piper Alpha Story on iPlayer

To mark tonight's final night-without-work-tomorrow there have ben not not but two motion picture premieres

First up: The Amateur (2025) in which a nerdy cryptanalyst who works in the basement at Langley goes rogue when his wife is killed, hunting down those responsible across Europe. As so often with these films, one wonders where he gets the money from to go on such a rampage, but I was happy to leave that question to one side for now because it's a cracking film, I reckon

And then Sew Torn (2024) which is a very peculiar film indeed; and I'm glad I watched it for that reason alone. But wait, there's more! An orphaned English seamstress living in an Alpine village stumbles across a drug deal gone wrong, and has three options: flee, call the authorities, or take advantage. At this point, the film itself nicks the idea of Run Lola Run by following the three possible timelines that would result from each choice, though to be honest it's rather clumsy about that aspect. But the several storylines are all good, relying as they do on the seamstress constructing a variety of improbable Heath Robinson apparati from needle and thread and whatever other bits happen to be to hand. As I say, it's very, very peculiar; but also very entertaining and well worth a watch

Monday again tomorrow, but this week it's Tuesday you have to watch out for

                Goodnight all

                  Morning.

                  Monday. BH.

                  Dry.

                  Grey.

                  Sunless.

Cool in here at 20.5 deg, 21.6 in the kitchen, 20 in the leanto, 18.6 in the saltinghouse.

1008.5 mBar, 29.78 in Hg, 756.44 Torr, 14.627 psi, (down from 1011 last night), 65% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 10th/11th of February 2020 nothing much happened, it was windy in Leicester where pork chops were consumed, WTFH was still in Memphis.

                  Washing frenzy in progress.

Walk (towpath, abbreviated) walked in the warm sunshine.

Shopping trip to Morrisons done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away. Was so warm after the walk down the tow path that the money back vouchers were slightly damp. Rather embarrassing .

                  Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: Y&Y. TWATO.

Washing frenzy complete with the cottons & suchlike receiving the attention of the iRon: all airing upstairs.

Freecell score: 100%, running average: 83%.

Tea: chicken in white sauce etc. Nice enough.

                  Entertainment: PM.

Weatherman Walking: north Wales temperate rain forest, the mandatory steam line to Blaenau, he managed not to mention The Prisoner when visiting Portmeirion.

Bits of this & that, including a chunk of "Godfather II".

                    Morning all

Blue sky with occasional wisps and a gentle breeze. Currently 21 degrees ('feels like' 24) with a high of 26 expected. Barometer down to 1017 mBar. According to the R4 pre-8 am weather, it's all downhill from tomorrow.

Billing today. I have a document that I've been procrastinating about for a good 6 weeks so I've set myself the task of getting the first draft done today.

Gordon Bennet! Topped up my PAYG phone last week and then had to do it again yesterday. Turned out I hadn't ended the call to loony lady's phone on Saturday. (I shall blame her as she didn't either)

                      Anyway, ghastly ll2 later.
