The joys of living in the fast-paced urban environment

Unlike yesterday, I survived today's trip south without being overwhelmed later by utter weariness, which I hope is a good sign. Looking back, my holiday so far seems to have proceeded roughly along these lines:

• Disease;
• Disease easing off but wedding in the far north;
• Disease made even worse by the stress of traveling to and from the far north;
• Disease continuing worse due to conveyancing;
• Disease easing off, leading to moving stuff, leading to revenge of disease;
• Moving stuff again, but disease finally at bay.

So this evening was the first time I finally felt both well enough and sufficiently unburdened by other responsibilities to relax and not have to worry about anything that needed doing tomorrow

I therefore decided to rewatch Galaxy Quest (1999). It's excellent

And as Alan Rickman is so good in it, I decided to follow it with his last film (well, he did voice a character in one more but the last one he appeared in): Eye in the Sky (2015) which I think is also excellent but which, as I've said before, no one ever seems to talk about

Meanwhile on Twitter, lots of people I follow seem to be excited about the new series (or season) of Slow Horses, which reminded me that I watched the first few episodes the other year. So I returned to where I left off (S1E5) and once I'd recollected what was going on, it too was very good. So I may carry on with that, now there's some catching up to do; I'd rather be in the position of being several seasons behind than get to the end of what there is and have to wait ages for the rest of it

Meanwhile on the 14th of November 2019 I was watching BTVS and Angel, whereas NF was watching Bab5, whereas snow was forecast, with rumours that it had fallen in Ystradgynlais that very evening.

Shirts in the WM, then out on the line, followed by smalls, ditto, bedding.

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the sunshine.

Bedding out on the line, shirts being dry awaiting the iRon.

Lunch: there was.

Shirts roughly iRoned & airing upstairs.

Next door's skip duly raided for bricks, and an assortment of screws & lightbulbs turned up. Dunno what's further down coz I can't be arsed to look, though there are more bricks in there.

Tea: soup etc.

Entertainment: The Infinite Monkey Cage: exploring theDeep sea, Wood wide web: trees talking to each other.

Due South S1 E5: the bit I didn't watch yesterday, 3 minutes of S1 E6 and <click>

Digging for Britain: Alice Roberts with curious pink hair, 5 minutes of Roman tesserae<click>.

Finished off "TLGW". Started on "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy".

Can't find anything to watch: none of the dvds seem to hold much innerest. Ho very hum.

Sunny with only minor wisps interrupting the blue. Currently 16 degrees with a high of 21 expected. Barometer has crept up a little to 1027 mBar.

Refuse and food waste bins have been emptied.

The new fourth plinth on Trafalgar Square will be unveiled tomorrow morning. Someone I know has been involved in its creation and I might stroll along at the unveiling time to say hello. The Fail and its average readership will, no doubt, be horrified by it.
