Mostly because S17 E10 was the last "new" one they showed before Xmas?

      Morning.

      Friday.

      Dark.

      Dank.

      Damp.

      Dreary.

      Sunless.

      Grey.

Chilly in here at 12.4 deg, 12 deg in the kitchen, 10 deg in the leanto.

1029.5 mBar, 30.40111 in Hg, 772.188 Torr, 14.931 psi, (up from 1027 last night), 69% RH (GDR hair), 66% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 22nd of April 2019 there was yet more Counting Down and books were read.

Walk (abbreviated due to ongoing works) walked.

Lunch: scrambled egg and poached tomato on Morrisons sunflower and pumpkin seed toast, bramble jelly and marmalade on slices of toast, a yog (non corner), 0.91*1.67 pints of good Glengettie tea.

Entertainment: whatever was on R4 at noon about transgender persons in clink. It went <click>.

Freecell score in the grey cold ennui of the afternoon: 93%, running average 85%.

Tea: Morrisons sausages (reduced) with bacon (reduced) and onion gravy (not reduced), a yog, some peach slices, 0.91*1.57 pints of good Glengettie tea.

      Entertainment: PM.

Wheeler Dearlers S7 E2 Ford Sierra Cosworth which had been Gary-ed with a bigger turbo, giganitc intercooler, had a whining gearbox & the engine smoked. Bought: £4k1 off ebay, Total: £5920, Sold: £6k2. Someone had a bargain: refurbed cylinder head, refurbed gearbox, new 2nd hand interior & steering wheels, correct roadwheels rather than the Escort Cosworths that were on it, & repainted front bumper. Been SORN since December 2019. Judging by the amount of oil underneath it shouldn't have rusted much.

No Joy of Painting until Monday so I'll just have to stay awake.

Part 2 of the Fleetwood Mac 2004 Boston concert.

Walking through History with Baldric: Northumberland.

        Morning denizens

Grey but mild yet again, being10°C now and heading to 12° later. The barometers are up too, at 1017/1025mB

But the nights are going to start getting colder again in the next couple of days, and there's even a 30% chance of snow next Thursday

Ah, they've run out have they? Back to the beginning (of the one hour episodes) then!

            Certainly looks like it:

            https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1549918..._=tt_eps_sn_17

A search on this site revealed that one of the assembled congregation had a yellow Golf GTI Colour Combination at one time.

            Who'd have thunk?

Meanwhile on the 22nd of April 2019 I'd walked out to Lidl(tm) and found it unreasonably warm, though I did spot a crow (not a rook, raven, or jackdaw) consuming a rodent it had caught, whilst a buzzard wheeled around far far overhead unaccompanied by the mandatory jackdaw.

            Just had a look and there's only 6 eps in S18. .

I just caught a glimpse of somebody riding a unicycle past here. I wonder what they're planning to do when they reach the junction with the main road, a hundred yards away? Waiting for a gap in the traffic must be quite tricky on one of those

I popped over to the old place and got more junk shifted, including a large number of tangled leads and cables of many kinds. I'll have to sit down to sort, coil, and pack them all at some point; they currently fill two drawers in their tangled state, so I expect they'll fill about half of one once they've been sorted out

Back over there for more stuff shortly, and I reckon a detour via the tip on the return journey would be petrol well spent. Not very much of it though, because it's a very minor detour

But first: lunch. Not sure what to have, but something by Greggs is quick and easy. The chicken bake boxes advertise a new recipe; I'd better try one just to check they haven't ruined them

                Afternoon all

Dull but dry. There was some sunshine this morning but it's clouded over since then. Currently 12 degrees and it might have reached 13 earlier. Barometer is at 1030 mBar.

Got home from Madeira yesterday afternoon. Had a lovely time there and an uneventful trip back. Would definitely visit again.

Today, after a lie in, HWMBO and I went to Olympia to wander around a travel and.holiday show which resulted in me carrying back lots of brochures that will ultimately go in the recycling bin.

This evening we are off to Bethnal Green for drinks and dinner as we've not had enough either this past week.

The chicken bake was OK, but I'll probably have to have a few more just to be sure. Not all today though

Went back over and retrieved more stuff. I discovered that a large bag, which I vaguely thought had stuff from years ago that could be got rid of, was in fact one I packed around move time and contained a good chunk of my CD collection

Home again and as my knee and back are both muttering darkly, I think that'll have to be it for today. So I've made a pot of tea - the first time the teapot has been activated here, as I don't drink much tea nowadays

And once I've had couple of nice mugs of tea, I think I'll treat myself to a Radox bath. I'm sceptical of the claims made for the stuff, but it can't do any harm to relax the old muscles a bit

Tea has been roast gammon with chips, fried eggs and beans. Very tasty

Accompanied by a bit of Trucking Hell

The car earlier was a Ford Sierra Cosworth, somewhat mucked about by its previous owner in search of additional horsepower. Currently SORN, last MOT in late 2019

And the gold diggers did their thing, including finding what appeared to be the remains of an old timer's jacket out in the bush - some buttons, a brothel token, and a gold half-sovereign

Before all that, the bath was very pleasant and relaxing
