    Just askin' like.
Nah, I find it hard enough to explain what I'm up to to myself

Tea tonight has been chicken pasanda out of the freezer, with the usual bits. Very nice

I might pop up the pub for a bit now, to see if anybody there has got any more info about my friend who died.

On second thoughts, I'll go up tomorrow night; on a Thursday night, various people who might have some info either won't be there or will be about due to leave now.

A friend turned up at my door just before 5. Suggested we went to my local for a beer. It would have been rude of me to refuse. He was then walking to another local to meet his wife, it’s about 40 mins away. I needed to walk Millie, so I set off with him, intending to turn back, honestly.
The Wife (tm) picked me up at the pub an hour later.

I just reply to this with anything right?

          What's a radiator's favourite food?

          Fajitas

No film tonight; just S1E6 of Ófærð, and a bit more of The West Wing.

            Goodnight all

The lab is Full of Golden Light.

              And Empty of Esteemed Customers.

              A fantastically rewarding combination.

Venus & Jupiter were looking particularly fine this morning.

I should have examined the remains of my bonfire this morning but I couldn't be arsed.

My new resolution is to burn every fecking thing that will burn and screw the recycling.

              Well there's a thing.

Whilst perusing ancient Wireless Worlds, one thought of the Leclanche Cell.

Commonly found in physics labs back in the day.

No one seems to make them any more.

Went on a skool supplier site:

Ammonium Chloride: Due to anti-terror legislation this cannot be ordered on line.

              Manganese Dioxide: not available.

              Feck me.

I wonder how many bells that's started ringing.

I've got the container & the pot & the carbon rod, the rest seems unobtainable.

                  Morning denizens

Sunny out; only 7°C at the moment, but it's forecast to reach the dizzying heights of 12 or 13 later

                    Wrong!

It's a Daniell Cell according to the label on the box.

                    Copper sulphate & sulphuric acid.

                    No problem there there.

The Lego stuff is wending its way back into my office.

We didn't play with Lego on degree courses back in the day.

Further to the Ancient Wireless World thing, there's a deep discussion on plotting stuff using marine radar to figure out if two vessels are on a collision course.

                    This was in 1957.

Seems like th USN could do some background reading.

Though back in the day, Lego didn't have microcontrollers and such - just a load of plastic bricks and, if you were lucky, a few transparent ones to use as windows
