So, almost the end of the day here and I decided to check why one of drives was showing as almost full.
The main EDI developer here likes to create temp files when the records are being processed, but has removed the standard code that would delete the temp file after (even though the file processes correctly and a copy of it is moved to an archive)

...but I'm not allowed to question why, because he is the guru.

He was recently complaining that his email was slow, then one of the support team looked and asked why he had a 40GB ost file on his machine.
Answer? Because he doesn't want to delete anything.

        Grrr.

        Time to go home.
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

I've got every email I've received and sent since August 2006 sitting on this MacBook Air (yes, I copied everything across from my old MacBook). That includes two folders containing every single piece of spam, just in case I want them for something. The whole lot comes to just over 9GB, and it doesn't slow down anything, including Mail.app.

But I hear Outlook is really good for email

I assume it's not your iCloud account unless you've paid for extra storage.

My only problem with Mail.app is that it created a ******* huge log file but cleared it down and it was fine
