Just added parsing & storing of a further data type to my project. It's the same underlying type as an existing thing, but needs its own table in the DB and runtime model. It took six lines of code, and one new two-line entry in a declarative data structure that dictates how everything actually fits together. It took me longer to cut-and-paste some test data and write four barebones tests than to implement it.
Tests passed first time; I set it loose on the live feed (~25MB of XML), and it Just Worked
I think this means I've got a solid foundation on which to build the rest of the app now
