Tea has been burger and chips, again

I need to make some more lamb burgers. But it depends on me remembering to get both minced lamb and fresh chillis when I go shopping. If I only remember the lamb, I end up making shepherds pie instead

Earlier, having got the bread machine going, I remembered that I needed to wash some bedding so the washer-dryer's on as well

The bread seems to have turned out well; smells nice, at any rate

And the washing and drying of one of the warmer duvet covers concluded successfully

Meanwhile in A for Andromeda, there have been developments now the supercomputer is running…

        Goodnight all

          Morning denizens

Mostly cloudy start: a sheet of dappled cloud stretches towards the horizon in all directions, though east-to-north is the only quadrant in which it reaches it; in the other directions it falls short, giving clear blue sky a look in, albeit from a low angle. It'll get sunnier apparently, warming the current 6°C up as high as 16° in mid-afternoon. The barometers are up just a touch at 1017/1025mB

Only me in the virtual office today! I would be looking forward to it but the other dev went through a bunch of stuff I "could be doing" yesterday, and I'm not sure I understand all aspects of this app well enough yet to get it all done. On the other hand, doing is a good way of learning and from pairing with her the last couple of days, I'm starting to think certain aspects of it that seem a bit scary aren't as complicated as they appear. I suppose I'll have to find out by trying!

Closer to home, some more bedding is in the wash as I continue to clear the backlog that built up when I was without a machine to do it for me

              Morning.

              Tuesday?

              Dry.

              Sunny.

              Blue sky.

Chilly in here at 16.1 deg, 15.5 in the kitchen, 13.5 in the leanto, 8 in the saltinghouse.

1024.5 mBar, 30.25 in Hg, 768.4 Torr, 14.86 psi, (up from 1023 last night), 60% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 18th of February 2020 Churchill, BR14, and DaveB popped in, and it was raining on everyone, LM, WTFH, NF, with LM being blessed with horizontal rain, always the worst kind, though I do recall the occasion in Ye Olde Sloughe of Desponde when I observed rain falling upwards from the Wrecked House across the road from my office.

              2nd washing frenzy in progress.

Walk (unabbreviated, towpath) walked in the sunshine.

Something I've never noticed previously: flowering ivy covered in butterflies: possibly small tortoiseshell with some bees thrown in for good measure.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: poem about King Richard. This sceptered isle & all that bollox. Fecking Norman immigrants.

"School for Secrets (1946)" with John Laurie, Rafe Richardson, Peter Tomlinson, Dickie Attenborough, and Raymond Huntley. All about the development of radar in WWII. The death of Alan Blumlein and the Bruneval Raid both featured, though not by name.

Am Dro. Anglesey. North Wales somewhere. Rhigos, just up the valley over by there, look. Mid Wales. The last one won it. This series has a £40 budget for lunch.

Washing in off the line: that requiring the iRon received it. All airing upstairs now. Bed remade to avoid later trauma.

Look at Life: what they did with scrap railway engines & coaches in 1963. Plus some shots of the old 1960s blue Pulman train.

              Tea: soup etc.

Dial 999: the one where the cop falls out of a 4th floor door.

The Mind of Mr J. G. Reeder. Not finding these particularly gripping but still more gripping than the rest of the crap on the idiot lantern. Enlivened by Michael Bates and Ken Campbell.

Blaze: "Why does everyone hate the British Empire": the pub landlord chap.

              JFK (1 of 2).

a bit protestant here, too, this morning.
hazy sunshine, so it's warming up gradually.

                  Morning all

Blue sky with occasional fluff. Currently 13 degrees with a high of 25 expected. Barometer up to 1031 mBar.

                  Sunrise 07:05; Sunset 19:13 BST.

A meeting was cancelled so I used the time to nag people. They all responded which left me with a flurry of things to do. Those things now done, I may make a bit of toast.

                    Lunch: roast beef butty

This was made with the bread baked yesterday, which turned out very nicely. In addition to adjusting the ingredients for the smaller quantity of flour, I'd reduced the amount of sugar in there by a bit more as my white loaves have, if anything, been a bit too light! This one was just about right in terms of density; maybe just a touch more sugar next time, but not as much as I have been using. And the smaller size makes for a squatter loaf, as the width and length are constant due to the size of the tin in the breadmaker, so it's almost square in cross-section and should fit the toaster

I've been quite productive this morning! Probably not as productive as my colleague seems to be, but I need to double-check a lot of things when making changes which she already knows all about

And there's ongoing washing of various bits of bedding. I even considered washing pillows, but the table in the manual suggests that the builtin two-phase detergent system isn't suitable for them, so I'd need to go with either the custom capsules, which are suitable but which I've put away somewhere I can't remember, or just normal capsules, which are also not yet unpacked from when I cleared the cupboard under the sink. Furthermore, my pillows are quite thick and though it claims to support doing two at a time, I think that would be pushing it, based on having tried to cram them in there. So I'll do them individually some time when I'm better prepared for the task

It's turned nice and Simpsonesque out now; very scenic

Arty thing this morning. Coffee machine turned off due to some charity tea and cakes thing in the hall full of loud nattering old farts. Went to get one in village and both local cafes closed down! Bah!

Loony lady 3 has messaged me re a walk but suggested day already booked with loony lady 1. Just got a text message from nephew asking if he could stay for a few days.
