Afternoon all, been a while, hope you're all good...

Too hot for me and I think it's going to get hotter still

Not been about for ages.. I went to the darkside back in 2022 because the market wasn't great, hated every second of being perm so wasn't too upset when I was caught by the latest round of redundancies in Feb this year. Discovered that the market is even worse now though .

Just moved house too so could do with work to cover the improvements the missus wants!

Just sitting here waiting for my domain host to reply to my support emails having finally stopped procrastinating and decided to move from (the increasingly badly named) Easily to a new home at Mythic. I think a few of you use them and they seem top notch, certainly if their documentation is anything to go by.

Don't know what's happened at Easily but their portal is appalling, even had to put a support call in to get my contact address updated. Now I can't update the MX records. Looks as if I'll have to just update the nameservers to Mythics and wait for things to propagate.

Ho hum.

Just doing the last domain now, the others seemed to go OK just took a little extra time for those hosted by Easily. The one domain I had with Fasthosts was a doddle to do, very quick to update.

Tonight's only telly was the remainder of the Gloucestershire plod thing I started watching last night

And then I read the final chapter of The Nazi Mind: Twelve Warnings from History - well, the final chapter proper; there's still a Postscript, and then another section summarising the ways in which the Twelve Warnings are generally applicable to threats to democracy, derived from the specific aspects of history described in the rest of the book

I find it mildly annoying that the title page has the word "Twelve" while the dust jacket says "12"

Sunny start to what's expected to be a hot day! We're already at 17°C and the forecast is for 28° this afternoon. Even hotter tomorrow though. Thye barometers are up a touch more at 1012/1019mB

But… Thursday! Get through today and it's only three more weeks, aka twelve working days, until the end of the project plus my August break!

And there's something mildly interesting to do with databases to look in to this morning, so that'll help pass the time

Ergh another hot day ahead. This old vampire hates the sun. Up to local cafe for Mahjong in a while, not sure what to do with rest of day. Walk, too hot, gardening, too hot. Maybe knock up a thing to remove all the little fruit flies round my sink without hurting them using spare PC fan and some soft cloth to suck them into.

Meanwhile on the 30th of January 2020 BR14 had a steak & kidley pie plus some cans & tots to recover a bit, NF couldn't be arsed to go shopping, Brillo popped in waffling about lemons, LM nearly got swapped for a Ferrari in Egypt some 10 years previous apparently, DaveB popped in, I watched "Ghosts" with the commentary, followed by "Red Joan".

Washing frenzy in progress. The shirts might be dry by now, they've been out there an hour.

Minor potching in the garage before it gets too hot.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: End of the Infinite Monkey Cage E201, The Secret Painter.

Shirts & cottons duly iRoned & airing upstairs: the saltinghouse temperature is now 29 deg.

30.3 deg in the saltinghouse: 23.2 in here. 28 in the leanto with the sun shining through the polycarb.

Morning all

Too warm here already.. 24.8 deg in the study with all the blinds closed. Turned the NAS fans up. Don't know how hot outside as haven't sourced a new weather-station since we moved and I think the old one was past it's best.

Sat here waiting for the last of my DNS changes for mail hosting to propagate...

Wish it would cool down.. overcast and drizzly is my preference.. nothing like that for at least week as far as I can see though...
