Tea has been the spicy Turkish chicken and potato thing out of the freezer

Accompanied by yet another new Traffic Cops

Part Two of Caledonian Road finished. Part Three is "Autumn", it having started in May and, I believe, lasting a year; so I'm about halfway through now

Ten more days of work until my break…

      Goodnight all

        Morning denizens

Sunny start again, getting windy later again. Currently 5°C and aiming for 15°, with the barometers down a bit again at 1013/1022mB

          Morning.

          Wednesday.

          Dry.

          Sunny.

          Blue sky.

Chilly in here at 14.3 deg, 13.5 in the kitchen, 11 in the leanto, 8.5 in the saltinghouse.

1017.5 mBar, 30.05 in Hg, 763.2 Torr, 14.7575 psi, (unchanged), 59% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 6th of January 2020 there was continuing discussion of The Co-op, CRS, CWS, the Art Deco Co-op shop on Cimla Road, meanwhile various comestibles were consumed as lunch intervened.

Washing frenzy in progress: even washed the overalls and workshirt.

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the sunshine. Windy out there too.

          Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: Y&Y waffling on about the usual.

Discovered 1 shirt had blown off the line & two others were hanging on by one peg each.

Shirts roughly iRoned & airing upstairs.

Cottons requiring the iRon duly iRoned & airing upstairs.

Everything else is still basking in the sunshine & blowing in the wind, along with the answers. (42 mostly).

Entertainment: The Infinite Monkey Cage S29: Higgs Boson. Monkey Cage Best Bits S2 E1.

Now imbibing a mediocre cup of coffee before donning the freshly laundered shirt & overalls before yet more labouring down in the garage. I have contemplated bolting the bit I hacked off yesterday back on to the cabinet. Now it's in there it doesn't matter that it's taller than the doorway. I may vac it out before applying all in 1 woodworm killer & dry rot remedy.

Duly vacced out & brush application of 5 in 1 stuff. Dunno what it does to the intended target but it doesn't do me a power of good.

Tea: soup etc. due to being too fecked to care.

          Entertainment: PM. 18 o'clock news.

The Secret Life of... The Air Fryer with Hannah Fry.

Maigret vs Mr Cavre. The one where he goes to Belgium.

4C earlier, and a lovely sunrise on our walk. Getting warmer out.

              Afternoon all

Sunny with occasional fluff. Currently 14 degrees with a high of 16 expected. Barometer down to 1022 mBar.

              Sunrise 06:34; Sunset 19:37 (BST)

Slightly hungover this morning. HWMBO and I had a little date night out with drinkies and dinner last night. He's currently working in 'the City' so I stayed over at his hotel. I meant to get up and head home to start work by 9am but ended up getting in about 90 mins later than that on account of more sleep being needed, with the aid of some headache tablets.

                Lunch: ham toasties

Before that, the surveyor of the garages was here. The appointed time was 12:30 and I had a meeting that ran until then, so once I'd escaped I got myself together and headed over to where my garage is, taking a bag of recycling with me as the bins are just past there. I couldn't see anybody around, never mind anybody who looked like a surveyor, so I deposited the recycling in the bin. Then I noticed that the padlock on my garage door had been twisted around a bit from where I'd left it, so somebody had been there trying the door.

I came back up to the flat and watched out of the window for anybody showing up. After a few minutes, I saw a chap with a ladder walking from the direction of the garages over this side towards the ones of interest, so I went back over and it was, indeed, the surveyor.

I opened up the garage for him and all he did was have a look up at the roof from inside while chatting away. He reckons it's going to be down to two options: a coat of bitumen on the inside of the roof in each garage, or replace the entire roof. I'd assumed the second would happen anyway, so it's interesting to find there's a cheaper option.

TBH I'd just as soon go for the wholesale replacement and not have to worry about it any more. But I suppose it also comes down to how much is in the garage reserve fund, and whether other people with garages in that block are willing or able to pay any surcharge that the reroofing option may require

Local walk as me little van out of action, went for a nice wander on the disused quarry area behind my house. Just as I got back, nice lady up the road came round with a cake she'd made for me. Huge! That's all the health benefits of me walks cancelled out.

Tea has been a pork cutlet with chips and beans

This was accompanied by the second half of an episode of the motorway programme that I'd watched the first half of recently - not a police one, but the one with Traffic England or whatever they're called nowadays

It was a nice evening tonight. I was thinking it'd be quite enjoyable to go out on the bike, but decided to wait until I can see where I'm going on it
