Today saw the usual wildlife stuff on the telly, including Monkey Life of course

Sadly, no additional primates later on; they've got back into the sharks. But at least it seemed to be new shark stuff

And this evening, some more of Porno has been read

I missed Eurovision. Will I watch it on iPlayer instead? I very much doubt it

    Goodnight all

      ^^^ OM.

      Morning.

      Sunday.

      Dry.

      Blue sky.

      Sunny.

Cool in here at 17.8 in here, 18 in the kitchen, 16 in the leanto.

1016 mBar, 30 in Hg, 762.1 Torr, 14.736 psi, (down from 1017 last night), 62% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 17th of January 2020 wattaj informed us that digestive biscuits fall to bits in tea, NF told us magick ways of definiing constants in FORTH (all of which I've long forgotten), LM's Power BI thing eventually finished despite it appearing to have crashed, and WTFH was having problems with some program that had a hard coded limit of 20 (base 10) for something, which was good for one part of the business & NotSoGood for another bit, resulting in much sloping shoulder syndrome from the permies.

Freecell score: 80%, running average: 82%.

Trucking Hell S9 E1: the canal recovery is a repeat.

      Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: youtube about some lethal chinese extension thing made with all the care one might expect: switched neutral, copper coated aluminium cable, an earth conductor made of Fresh Air, internal connections made with wire that would get warm with 1A much less 10, and a USB charger borderline lethal. Followed by some septic waffling on about The Colt Walker, supposedly the Most Powerful Handgun prior to the .357 Magnum. According to him, it wasn't. There seems to be a wide variety of proper FFFG gunpowders available in septicland. Well there's a thing. Turns out the .45 Colt of 1873 was more powerful. Don't tell anyone.

More potching in the garage: had to dig out the electric planer to reduce the thickness of the patch for the floor of the toolbox. Now that's a thing to be careful with.

Tea: beans on toast with scrambled egg.

Entertainment: Doctor Who: The Sea Devils E5, E6. Nice to see the SRN5 again. Another Great British Invention. Doctor Who: The Mutants E1, E2.

I have no recall of either of the above, which is odd. I wonder if I watched them back in the day.

Thing on Yesterday about a Cornish tin mining/arsenic extracting village.

King Arthur's Britain on PBS with Alice Roberts (red). Alice is looking like she's freezing to death despite the sunshine. .

Mediaeval Murders: did evil King John off Prince Arthur? Wadda you think? course he did. Too grim. <click>.

        Morning denizens

Grey out, though it may brighten up a little in the early afternoon. It's 12°C ("feels like" 8°) and expected to soar no higher than 19°; the barometers are down some more at 1010/1018mB

Lunch has been a hot dog, made with a 20cm Vienna beef frankfurter plus curry ketchup and crispy fried onion sprinkles

            Evening all

It started off cloudy but brightened up considerably as the day progressed. Currently 17 degrees and that's the high for the day. Barometer down to 1017 mBar.

            Sunrise 05:06; Sunset 20:52 BST

The fillum yesterday was good. We've booked in to see The Phoenician Scheme (2025) next Saturday as there are more free tickets to use up.

Visited Mum today, no trip to Tesco.

A bird appears to have fallen down the chimney but the fireplace is blocked up. I can't rescue it without permission from my landlady as the way it's boarded up will result in damage and I don't have the right materials or paint to fix it without her noticing.

Tea: pork cutlet with chips and beans

This was accompanied by part one (of three) of the new Netflix documentary Fred and Rose West: A British Horror Story. This includes "recently discovered" original police recordings of custody interviews and such. I wonder if there's some kind of legal limit on how long these things are kept back by the authorities (the investigation being thirty years ago last year), or if it is just a case of somebody finding a bunch of tapes at the back of a cupboard in Gloucester nick and saying "Hmm, reckon I could get a few bob for these off of Netflix."

Nice NGS open gardens things nearby with loony lady 3. She is so infirm now we can't walk together but works out ok, she sits around yacking to people while I zoom off nosing about in the woods.

I ended up watching part two of the thing about the Wests

And then read a couple more chapters of Porno

Monday tomorrow, but at least there's a Bank Holiday next week to look forward to

                    Morning denizens

Sunny start out, though there's a light breeze which feels a bit parky. It's 9°C but the breeze is giving a "feels like" score of 8° and the expected high is 17° towards teatime. The weather app is of the opinion it's cloudy so maybe there's high haze causing some filtering, but it seems very bright out there. The barometers are hanging around in the same general area as yesterday at 1010/1018mB

Meanwhile on the 17th of January 2020 Brillo popped in, complained of the lack of a weekend thread, so WTFH made one for him. LM popped in too.

                      Walk (abbreviated) walked. Cooler today.

Shopping trip to The Range and Morrisons done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away.

Off to the dentist this afternoon at 2:30 (GMT). And I've just eaten some pickled onions. .

                      Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: Y&Y waffling on about driver assist steering you back into a lane you didn't want to be in.

House roughly vacced since a) it looked as if it needed it and b) didn't want to spend yet more time in the garage before visiting the dentist.

Dentist attended: used that ultrasonic cleaner thing again. Always makes me twitch a bit.

Now getting outside a mug of mediocre coffee in an attempt to recover from the stress. .
Tea: chicken in white sauce with rice etc. Nice enough.

Entertainment: Doctor Who: The Mutants E3, 4, 5, 6. Not the most wonderful. Thankfully that's it for a while since it's rolled around to Pertwee's first ep in S7 tomorrow.

Wainright Walks: Crinkle Crags. Well it didn't start off raining. And went <click> due to lack of any innerest whatsoever.

The Skinwalker Ranch nutjobbery: Graves Concern. More bollox but less bolloxy bollox than the Blind Frog bollox which is off planet bollox.

Found another Alfred Bester book: another anthology with a few stories that aren't in the other two anthologies.
