Lunch has been a bit of leftover spicy chicken from last night

Dramatic turnaround outside where the gloomy cloud cover has vanished, leaving a clear blue sky

And I see the sun doesn't set till around half seven this evening! I know it's not the real time, but that aspect of the hoax is fairly pleasing

Family duty done and now back home.

      Lovely sunny afternoon out there.

HWMBO will be heading off soon to his hotel in The City ahead of his next job.

Took LL2 for a walk, so slow and decrepid now, but my last 2 lone walky days have been fast and quite long to make up. Fantastic blue sky not a sign of cloud anywhere.

Tonight's viewing has been the two latest episodes of 24 Hours in A&E

Earlier, I took a bag of recycling over to the bins, then popped into the Super Monkey Car's garage, as the property management people wanted to know if the roof has been leaking. It has, so on Wednesday I'll have to let a surveyor in to check it out. I know some of the others in that garage block have the same problem, so it's probably going to involve the whole roof being replaced

Early night now, although the clocks are pretending it isn't

            Goodnight all

I too watched some 24 Hours in A&E. Only seen up to episode 3 so far

                Morning denizens

Sunny start, with just a few traces of mares' tails high up mingling with the dispersing vapour trails along a couple of air routes. Not too warm yet at 4°C, though it'll soar to 15° later. The barometers are heading back up again at 1017/1025mB

I had a moderately terrible night's sleep for some reason, mainly struggling to get off to sleep in the first place despite feeling reasonably tired. Oh well, it'll make it easier to get to sleep tonight. Give it a month or two and I might have adjusted to this BST nonsense

                  Morning all
CBS, etc. Very pleasant walk earlier, shame I will be at my desk for most of the day.
Like Nick, I had a bad night's sleep, but I'm blaming the gardening and wood chopping that I did yesterday.
As an aside, in all those movies where the detective sniffs something and then says "hydrogen cyanide", it turns out it really is an obvious smell. I was shredding up some laurel yesterday, and its leaves are known to be toxic, they give off cyanide when burned if they are still green. A lot of the leaves were green. The smell was distinctly almond.

                    Morning.

                    Monday.

                    Dry.

                    Sunny.

Chilly in here at 13.8 deg, 12.5 in the kitchen, 11 in the leanto.

                    Blue sky.

Marsh full of water (flood warnings in place last night).

1025 mBar, 30.27 in Hg, 768.8 Torr, 14.866 psi, (up from 1023.5 last night), 61% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 6th of January 2020 there was much more discussion of The Co-op, CWS, CRS, etc. etc. including mention of the Dragon 32 I bought in the Swansea Co-op back in the 1980s, and my late & unlamented (adopted) cousin who spent 18 months in clink for various naughtiness involving the Neath Co-op: a man too stupid to keep his mouth shut.

Shopping trip to Aldi & Tesco done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away. 38 bus back over the river.

                    Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: story thing at 11:45. Y&Y.

More work in the garage: repaired the drawer thing & bolted it to the underside of the bench.

Entertainment: some thing on R4 about some poor old sod with dementia.

                    Feck me.

Yet more stuff transferred from next door's shed to my garage. Not much left in there now apart from the big cabinet. WTF I'm going to put that is a mystery.

Tea: Brains' faggots with peas & mash. Nice enough.

Entertainment: PM waffling on about stuff. 18 o'clock news ditto.

Thing about The Norman Bastards invading Ireland on BBC2 NI.

Abandoned Railways from the air on More4: Oxford to Cambridge line.

                    Skinwalker Ranch. Clip show.

Beyond Skinwalker Ranch. Rock Art Ranch, Az. Petroglyphs.

Anything else I can find on the 13 dozens of channels of tulip on the tv to choose from.
