Dull day, bit of a breeze, not too cold though.

Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way?

I watched six eps of HSB yesterday.

          It's quite worrying.

Talk about wasting the hours in an offhand way.

Then again, at my age who gives a tulip?

And I did manage to put the stuff back in the porch and screw the repaired barometer to the wall.

Though the miniature rose and the maidenhair fern are still outside assuming they've not been nicked.

What's even more worrying is the 11 seasons of NYPD Blue that's sitting waiting to be watched.

A dehumidifier cured the problem in my parents' house, which was quite considerable.

At 01:00 there seemed to be 3 or 4 slugs roaming the kitchen floor.

Drying the place out cured that.

            Compost composted
            Plants planted
            Soil soiled
            Snails Slaughtered
            Rain Rained

Other than that, plus ca change...

I don't have a damp problem. It's something that happens occasionally. A few slug pellets out for a week seems to do the trick.

Lunch: zingy chicken, tomato and lentil soup with the usual bits of bread. Just the thing for the drab, grey day it's turned into now

Quick chat with the caretaker has revealed no-one has complained about the lack of uplighters at the front of the building. Apparently they are often going wrong so not only are a waste of electricity but also incur high maintenance costs. He's going to mention to TPTB that at least two residents (him and me) would be happy to leave them permanently switched off.

                    Cool, grey, chance of rain.

Lunch was a couple of delicious oranges and a cup of black coffee. I might need a snack later.

In other news: I have been informed that a payroll provider regards my most recent contribution on LinkedIn as "slanderous". I've let them know that I think that they mean "libellous"; that should smooth things over.

It's quite warm out - 21 degrees and dry. Barely a breeze. Still cloudy as expected.
