That'll be the risible Die Another Day. The first 30 mins or so is actually quite good but after that it goes downhill pretty far and pretty fast. You can tell nobody's trying very hard when they give up thinking of a clever, witty or outlandish name for the henchman.

It did occur to me earlier that as DC is leaving, they have the opportunity to reboot the whole thing yet again, and could be bold and simply make films of the original novels: set in the 1950s, with Bond as an alcoholic sadist. (I’ve never read any of the books, but somebody whose opinion I respect has said that’s Bond’s character in the books.) But I don’t suppose they will
I've only read Casino Royale and that was a quarter century ago. It seemed very good at the time and it was a relief to see that the subsequent film version didn't take too many liberties with it. It would be a bonus to see true-to-the-time adaptations of the original stories but I cannot see Eon granting anyone the rights to do that or having the guts to do it themselves, alas.

Just been to the park with baby bp for a kick around.

Twins opened their birthday cards. In previous years, would have been a good day to mug them. These days money transfered online. Plus the odd cheque.

I have read quite a few of the books. We had a few in the house when I was a teenager.

The spy who loved me was good. I seem to remember it had a girl who had a German boyfriend. He insisted on sex on Tuesday, Thursday on Saturday every week. And only those days. Weird...

I can't wait to hear what the Queen says tomorrow night. Will she advise living in a palace and living off the taxpayer?

It's a real shame Andy can't make an appearance I'm sure he would have some useful advice to offer

Connery Kevin McClory had the rights to "Thunderball" after a court case against Ian Fleming, and thusly remade it as "Never say never again", which features an actual Bentley as his motor car.

I read all the books back in the day, most over 50 years ago.

They were amusing enough at the time.

                    Kevin McClory, actually, Mish Moneypenny.

                      <checks time>

                      Morning all!

Got up about 9am. It was a bit overcast.

Put the week's clothes into the WM, just the one load this week.

Then made coffee, went into the office to do a particular task for my OU course that is due by midday.

                      Made more coffee.

                      OU task completed

                      Sun came out.

Attempt at making a sourdough starter tinkered with.

                      Washing hung out.

Toast made (one slice with marmite).

                      More coffee made.

Chatted to crazy friend on WhatsApp who thinks covid-19 was made in a lab and spread by 5G

                      Caught up on TPD.
