Just saw the brightest shooting star I've ever seen while I was taking the recycling bin out the back!

Easily a brighter magnitude than Sirius; nearer the magnitude of Jupiter when it's closer to Earth. It travelled pretty much south to north for maybe a half a second or less before going out, seeming to be very low, though that's going to be an optical illusion; but it seemed as if it was just to my right, travelling along a vertical plane between me and the backs of the houses beyond their back yards. That probably means it was a few miles away to the east, of course

And before all that heavenly excitement, tea was a leg, wing, and some breast off yesterday's big chicken, with chips and ketchup

This evening's major motion rewatch was the most excellent The Equalizer (2014). I only watched this last July or thereabouts, but I've got The Equalizer 2 waiting in the wings (despite poor reviews here) and I thought I'd refresh my memory of the original (not counting Edward Woodward on the telly) so as to be prepared

This evening's kinema entertainment is "Jack's Return Home" with that Michael Caine Geezer, and shedloads of people off Z Cars & the like.

The other two easily reached copies turned out to be the Septic remake with Stallone, so I had to dismantle a pile to reach this one which turned out, rather inconveniently, to have the security thingie still in place, though that was easily removed with a screwdriver at some disadvantagge to the case.

Have I mentioned that this difficulty is easily overcome with a magnet, no screwdriver being necessary?

Well there's a strange couple of things.

In the bog standing at my usual urinal, the one closest to the corner, having a nice slash when in comes an oik & despite there being three free urinals, decides to stand right next to me.

I found this a trifle offputting, it being, really & truly, Not The Done Thing.

Maybe he wanted to become My Special Friend or sommat.

Then a few minutes later, when back in my office a different oik comes up & asks if he can have the bluetooth earpiece thing that's been stuck on the window since last September.

Apparently it was his.

Taken his time claiming it.

A mere 6 months.

Who am I to argue?
