      Morning denizens

      Grey day out

Still grey out there, but the precipitation has been very half hearted in a blink & you'll miss it sort of way.

I see SAS has finally caught up with my post about the sperm shortage.

The sky box now refuses to acknowledge the viewing card any more, despite it being in there for many yonks.

Cancellation as of tomorrow since the queue on the phone was 20 mins & I have no idea wtf my password is to do it on line.

Which I wouldn't do from this box anyway since it's undoubtedly riddled with spyware & viruses.

Leftovers of that pork with toffee apple flavour sauce from the other night for lunch, stuffed in a wholemeal bap. It's quite nice cold

The pressure washer guy is back at the doctor's, this time cleaning the concrete of the back yard.

I think I watched that many years ago.

Living room temperature this morning: 18.2 deg, laundry room: 15.3 with a min of 13.7.

Autumn appears to be on its way.

It's a grey day again, but precipitation is currently on hold.

              It's windy too.

              That's probably the beans.

I think "I Robot" or "Independence Day" are on the cards today, being reasonably accessible without the risk of death by falling tower of dvds.
Either rip them to disk (8 TB drives & Makemkv) are cheap. Or transfer to these babies.

              £9.50 from all good stores.

              Throw the DVD boxes away.

And yes Will "fresh prince" versus Mr "Benn-Hur" Heston there is only one winner! He even looks better in velvet.

                Gosh.

And I thought I could weld.

The latch on the front gate needed half an inch of steel welded on so it would work again.

                I eventually managed it.

With much slag inclusion and grinding back.

                Stone me.

Then I find that the stick should have been negative wrt the work.

It doesn't matter with an AC buzz box, but it does with this neat little Lidl(tm) welder.

It's amazing what a bit of Hammerite can cover over.

Then it was on to some rough flymoing of the even rougher grass, followed by cutting up some more remains of Strangelove Pater's wood collection, ready for a trip to the tip early tomorrow morning.

Totally & utterly knackered now but at least I seem to have achieved a little.

Oh, and the steel came from a chunk that was holding up the bricks in the doorway to the pigsty I can just about stand up in, in an attempt to make it a bit more useful.

It'll be even more useful when I've raised the roof by 9" and installed some lights & suchlike.

                  Ribs and chips for dinner

The tileserver stuff is gradually getting there. The OpenStreetMap data import into the Postgres/PostGIS database is working now, so I need to work out what the next bit I should do is

This evening's epic was "I Robot" with Will Smith.

                    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0343818/

I've seen it before and enjoyed it a lot more than "I am Legend".

I have the 2 dvd special edition (£3 in 2008, which is when I bought it).

The 2nd dvd is full of pompous crap from the director and the odd interesting bit from AI people and robot builders.

No telly tonight apart from yet another air ambulance programme on some channel or other while eating dinner. Is there any time when there isn't a channel showing an air ambulance programme?

Other than that, I've been mucking about with tileserver stuff, but it looks like the next step is going to be too much hassle to get into at this time of night

                      Goodnight all
