In honour of thus august occasion, it was fish & chips for tea

And it turned out the chip shop was also marking the day by doing all fish & chips half price!

Unfortunately I was not aware of the event but Friday is Miss V1's night at the chip shop so we enjoyed cod & chips.

Late lunch of a bit of a fancy M&S pork pie "with smoked bacon". It's nice, but if anything a little too rich; in future, I think I'll keep pies and bacon separate
