Coffee because it's a break at a conference so coffee; ice cream in little tubs, handed out by the organisers and their helpers coming through the auditorium wearing those trays cinema usherettes wear, because it's an old cinema

Back at the hotel now. The conference afterparty is at a bar on the beach, directly over the road from the hotel. Trying to decide whether to go. On the plus side: free beer, and the bar serves food so I could get something to eat. Con: it tends to be a bit of a pain eating unless you wait until after the rush has died down, which means drinking the first few beers on an empty stomach; the only half-decent beer is bottled, it being that kind of trendy bar that only has lager, cider, and nitrokeg on draught; and I want to get off immediately after breakfast in the morning, which a hangover wouldn't help with

Might wait an hour or so, then wander over. Or maybe just go to the chip shop again, and get an early night
