Somebody just used novated in an email. "...depending how the order was raised impacted whether the order novated or not."

I've googled, but I'm none the wiser.

Novate is the substitution of a new contract for an old one where the new one extinguishes the rights and obligations of the old one.

              Ficko!

substituted (people) or replaced (by another contractual requirement / obligation) is how I understood it.

So they are saying the order is either changed or replaced by another.

They place an order for 50 then replace that order with another for 200.

Or you order Brillo and get Suity.
