Just popped out to put my mum's Mothering Sunday card in the post. Did it start raining as soon as I stepped out of the back door, you ask? Why yes; yes it did. And did it stop as soon as I returned home from the pillar box on the corner? You guessed it

I always go the back way to the pillar box - i.e. about twice a year when I have something to post. It makes a relaxing change from using the road at the front, which has been busy since at least Roman times and shows no signs of letting up.
