Does anyone want to pen a succinct post explaining what's just happened to them, what might hapeen to them in the future, and what they might do to mitigate against it happening to them?

You'll have my thanks and I'll make it a sticky..

Yep, new thread with a good title.

And "06/04? Too late, you're fecked" is not a good title...

First draft of the Tax section written (see my rant in general for another annoying (to me) IPSE issue). I've also reserved all the first page to give me room to expand and move comments to page 2.

Thanks Eek. Although not in PS, been following closely to assess future plans in private sector.

Appreciate the effort you've been putting in and the insights you have shared. You've been providing the most info.

Quick comment on retrospective claims added.

I personally think (or hope) there won't be a flood of contractors entering the market in April as no one other than the 10 people who regularly post on here seem to give a tulip.
Im currently on 4 week payment terms and current gig ends Feb. Client has got a big project during march so they're not going to be happy. Obviously I cant proceed on this basis because the payment will run into April.

UNLESS they change to one week payments terms. An idea at least.

OR offer to the work as a fixed price piece maybe?

You really don't understand how you need to work to be outside IR35 do you?

Granted what you need to do is utterly insane to the client (client has to create a schedule of work to do x specifically) but you really can't move from project 1 straight into another one at the beck and call of the end client and still argue you are not under the direction of said client...

I've dealt with enough people like him to know that if Phil Hammond regards him as a tax avoiding bum on a seat who should be an employee Mr Hammond is 100% correct.
