So 70% of a PS rate?Originally posted by seeourbee View PostAbout 70% of what it should normally be paying. But the poor rate may not be related to Ir35

That's bad. I'd seen PS rates at about 60-70% of the rate of similar private sector roles in Manchester before but to be 70% of that lower rate AND inside IR35 is a mickey take. That said, if they're low paid and probably a bum-on-seat with SDC working practices, they should be inside IR35.The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't existComment

So they have made them less well paid from the outset and less attractive in terms of tax in one grand gesture?Comment

I can't be certain about the rate drop being related, it may be just general cost saving full stopComment

I really can't wait to see what happens in April now I'm clear of the PS.
There isn't a week that goes by where I'm either turning down agents sniffing around with PS contracts, or explaining to them that their 'new solution' that gets around the new rules will indeed not get around the new rules.
I had an agent tell me yesterday that because I would be sub contracted via a digital agency instead of via an agent (lol), then I would be safe from IR35. I asked him if he could offer me a personal guarantee that I would not be hit by IR35 to which he then admitted that nobody actually knew what was going to happen until it happens, so he could not guarantee anything, other than the fact it would be the digital agency's problem and not theirs when push came to shove.Comment
