Hi, I received one of these today as well. I'm surprised that its only the 08/09 tax year I've received it in respect of - I was with Cascade between December 05 and June 08 so was only working under the scheme for 2 months of that tax year. Presumably there's more demands coming down the line from the prior years.

Does anyone know if Penfolds still operate as I rang the number I had for them and its a dead number?

Can I be registered for PMs as well?

I received my letter today for 2008/09. Really puzzled as I was certain the 2010 law change had said they weren't going after these schemes retrospectively.

If you can see it on the portal then it will be on its way to you - some came last week and have been coming each day. Suggest you get in contact with Cascade ASP - we have formed a small group of people effected PM me for more info.

I have also received the dreaded letter and would like to join this group to get further information and support and believe a unified approach is best. I do not even work in the City anymore and no way can I pay this money without bankrupting myself and my family. Any help/advice would be helpful. I was with Cascade/Penfolds. thanks

It's interesting to read the Daily Mail today and all the top 10 companies who are evading paying tax in the UK. These include companies like Rolls-Royce Group Vodafone, G4S, British American Tobacco, Tate & Lyle, RSA insurance among others!!!! According to the MOS 1 in 4 of the Uk's top companies pay NO TAX!!!!! And they are coming after us..................think it's time they picked on someone their own size, the rewards would be much bigger and I'm sure the big boys wouldn't be too concerned for their livelihoods and their families!!!!

Anyhoo .... yep I'm in the same boat guys. Got a letter dated 26/2/13 on Friday - scared the bejeezus out of me I can tell you. So glad I found this thread.

I don't get what the grounds are for this. As Varunksingh said earlier these are loans which can be recalled at any time so how on earth can HM-Ar$ey "believe" they are income? Additionally, I was thinking about this today and I recall a few "enquiries" into my SATRs over the years, all of which fizzled away to nothing. Now if they have spent the time in being so granular with my previous returns that they have fully investigated them and found nothing, why now do they think something is different?

I'll be ringing Cascade/KS tomorrow - meantime please sign me up once I have PM rights.
