Perhaps they are happy with the status quoWhile you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.' -
Your figures are wrong. One is the total cost of education over an 11 year period, the other is an annual amount....Originally posted by BlasterBates View PostChild benefit cost per year per child is 1000 pounds for the next child 700 pounds.
The cost of educating a child in the state sector is 22000 pounds
So an eastern European with a child in Poland costs the tax payer 1000 pounds. An Eastern european with a child in the UK costs 23000 pounds to the tax payer.
Tax free allowance is 8000 per year. Minimum wage is 15000
So it isn't costing the tax payer anything.merely at clientco for the entertainmentComment

The country is about to burn £40bn building a high-speed rail line that will be useless when it's complete..and all the papers can complain about is a grain of sand being sent abroad.Originally posted by vetran View PostChild benefit worth £30m paid by Britain to families across EU | Mail Online
child benefit only paid to children that are UK resident. easy.
doesn't require renegotiation surely?
Its funny..wife sees people all the time who want to stay here. I keep telling them we are all desperate to get out.McCoy: "Medical men are trained in logic."

Yes my figure was wrong, it costs the state 6000 a year. The other figure is simply what parents spend, i.e. books uniforms etc etc.Originally posted by eek View PostYour figures are wrong. One is the total cost of education over an 11 year period, the other is an annual amount....
Still a lot more than child benefit. 1000 vs 6000I'm alright JackComment

You start from the premise the immigrant worker should be here. That is the crux of the matter, some contend we don't need more large scale immigration to supply cheaper workers but selective migration of the best to build the economy.Originally posted by BlasterBates View PostYes my figure was wrong, it costs the state 6000 a year. Surprising contractors find such a concept difficult, get a few good men rather than hire droves of people.Comment

Encouraging foreign based workers to bring their families over will increase immigration.Originally posted by vetran View PostYou start from the premise the immigrant worker should be here. These workers come in temporarily and then return to their families. If you don't want permanent immigration surely you want to encourage this.
If they bring their families over then you not only multiply immigration by 4 you also increase the number of permanent migrants.
This has nothing to do with how much immigration you allow, it's a rule about whether you pay a benefit to an immigrant who has his family back home, and hence contribute to reducing the level of immigration and ultimate cost to the tax payer of bringing up the family and paying a pension, as the migrant will return home when he stops working.Last edited by BlasterBates; 3 June 2014, 07:12.I'm alright JackComment
