They are not lower cost if they are in this country - it's outsourcing to countries like India that is unfair because of totally different playing field - no taxes there, no social security etc.

Well it rather depends on whether you think that someone who is working is entitled to expect a minimum standard of living, and what that minimum standard should be.
The market will pay what it has to. As a working adult, if you expect to at least expect to be able to afford to rent your own room in a shared house, for example, but other people are prepared to bunk up three to a room, those people will be able to undercut you.
