Why should people born here be undercut by people imported to bring wages down?Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostWhy should people who are not 'driven' be protected at the expense of those that are?
Or should we kill / lock up everyone who doesn't get 7 A* at School?
As Xoggy said, if you fill the bottom end with cheap imports the people who were doing those jobs traditionally become disenfranchised, what are they going to do once they realise there is no future?Comment

You've just belted the proverbial nail right on the head here; so many people who complain about the business practices of those who choose cheap labour are quite happy to benefit from that choice by buying cheapo products. If you want decently paid British workers making your food, cleaning the bog or manning the helpdesk, fine, but be prepared to pay for it.Originally posted by original PM View PostBut then my Chicken Zinger box meal with pepsi n gravy would go up to about £10

Because a modern economy works on being competitive and encouraging some level of meritocracy; falling out of your mother's womb in the right place is not an achievement that can help a business to make a profit or an economy to stay healthy.Originally posted by vetran View PostWhy should people born here be undercut by people imported to bring wages down? And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument?
