There are apparently paedophiles who do no act on their urges and who seek medical help. That sounds like a tough life and I'm not sure why anyone would be 'against' such people.

I like to think that too, but in reality I am not sure people could be so tolerant. Being a parent, if you found out you have a paedophile even if (s)he was getting medical help, would you be against them then?

I agree with this. Hating someone because of the way they are made - black, gay, psychopath, ginger, short, pedophile - is silly. Hatred in general is a bad thing.

Because I hold that the very definition of marriage is based on the joining of people of different genders, in a permanent and irrevocable way.

I suppose if you take the modern interpretation of marriage as "something you do because of tradition", which either party can decide to terminate if they get bored, then we're so far from my definition that you're probably right, let people do what they want.
