Funnily enough when they insisted that their religion should be granted tax breaks in the US (which have, apparently, just been withdrawn) I asked whether other religions should get the same and if so why not other beliefs such as people who believe they have been abducted etc. Where do we draw the line with people's beliefs influencing which laws apply to them?

Apparently this is 'just being pedantic' too.
I think what it comes down to is that there are people who are content that being gay should not be a criminal matter, but they cannot accept that to be gay is just as OK as to be straight.

Anyway I am busy today so that be my last post.
Wait - you think it's reasonable to deny an adoption because they can't have children? I wonder what the number 1 reason for people investigating adoption is?

Nature is a cruel master - bloody broken couples coming here and stealing our (unwanted) children.

You could say the same about adultery though.

You could but the comparison is flawed, In adultery one partner has broken a vow made to another and potentially destroyed a family unit which means there are innocent victims.

It is not the same as being gay is what someone is whereas adultery is something they have chosen to do.

How is comparable - they are mutually exclusive concepts. Both gay and straight couples can be equally adulterous - it has nothing to do with orientation.

That adultery is legal but many/most people don't think it's OK? Yes.

Go back and read the post I quoted for context. I made no comment about sexuality or orientation.

I don't think it's the same concept at all - people don't generally think adultery is fine, but they wouldn't normally call for adulterers to have fewer rights than others.
