I think what it comes down to is that there are people who are content that being gay should not be a criminal matter, but they cannot accept that to be gay is just as OK as to be straight. -
Wait - you think it's reasonable to deny an adoption because they can't have children? I wonder what the number 1 reason for people investigating adoption is?Originally posted by minestrone View PostGay adoption has nothing to do with peoples perception so taking it up that avenue is nothing but straw man debating, gay couples cannot have children as fact, how they are being discriminated against by not giving them children for adoption is therefore ridiculous. But that is the law and if that is the case then the law is wrong on that one and should be considered to be wrong elsewhere in other cases, like this one.
Anyway I am busy today so that be my last post.Comment

You could say the same about adultery though.Originally posted by Old Greg View PostI think what it comes down to is that there are people who are content that being gay should not be a criminal matter, but they cannot accept that to be gay is just as OK as to be straight.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

Is that what you're saying?Originally posted by d000hg View PostYou could say the same about adultery though.Comment

You could but the comparison is flawed, In adultery one partner has broken a vow made to another and potentially destroyed a family unit which means there are innocent victims.Originally posted by d000hg View PostYou could say the same about adultery though.
It is not the same as being gay is what someone is whereas adultery is something they have chosen to do.Comment

How is comparable - they are mutually exclusive concepts. Both gay and straight couples can be equally adulterous - it has nothing to do with orientation.Originally posted by d000hg View PostYou could say the same about adultery though.Comment

That adultery is legal but many/most people don't think it's OK? Yes.Originally posted by Old Greg View PostIs that what you're saying?
Go back and read the post I quoted for context. I made no comment about sexuality or orientation.Originally posted by vwdan View PostHow is comparable - they are mutually exclusive concepts. I don't think it's the same concept at all - people don't generally think adultery is fine, but they wouldn't normally call for adulterers to have fewer rights than others.Originally posted by d000hg View PostThat adultery is legal but many/most people don't think it's OK? Yes.
