If I felt I wanted to yes - but we will soon be in the realms of men only golf clubs and women only gyms if we carry on and that debate bores me.

What if I only want to server black people and not white people - somehow that seems more acceptable than saying I will only server white people and not black people?

      Why?

very dangerous precedent being set there.

So if I happen to try and eat a bacon sandwich in a guest house run by Muslims and was told I could not I will guarantee that as a straight white male my discrimiation case would not even be given the time of day.

The trouble is, I don't think businesses should refuse service on basis of religion, politics, ableness or skin colour, but on the other hand, I don't think anyone should be forced to provide service if they don't want to.

Well, it "seems" more acceptable because white people don't have a history of being a racial underclass. But, legally, I'm pretty sure both would be illegal.

That's not the question here. If you require specialist equipment that has greater running costs should the company be required to offer the same higher optional discount when that specialist equipment is provided due to being required..

Why don't you try it? You're bringing up hypothetical strawmen there.

So how do you prevent minority groups from being refused access to everything? Do you really want a return to the old "No blacks, no Irish, no gypsies" era?

Allowing people to decide who they will serve and who they will not does not have to immediately revert to that condition.

I think what the judge said was correct. She is running a commercial service for financial return. Would she have turned away someone who was a glutton, or proud, or hated gays? That's just as much a sin as the act of buggery (by her standards).

White English people have been enslaved by the Romans, the Celts, The Vikings, The French etc etc etc. In fact I did read (although no source) that the least enslaved peoples have been the blacks.

                      Could be wrong mind you.
