    here is another one then

can we just reduce the blip

“So, if we could reduce the ocean blip by, say, 0.15 degC, then this would be significant for the global mean” … “It would be good to remove at least part of the 1940s blip”. This relates to the rapid warming before 1940 followed by cooling after 1940, which the ‘scientists’ would like to remove because it does not fit with their theory

This speculative discussion relates to the known problem in the SST records related to changes in measuring technology and attempts to assess how important it is - the 'buckets' issue. It was resolved in Kennedy et al 2012

Not a shred of evidence that any data was ever illegitimately changed. Blimey - if people read some of my 'what-if' emails to colleagues with such a suspicious mind, I'd never get another contract.

The Tuvalu Islanders are in the front line of Global Warming on their low lying Island in the middle of the Pacific

As you can see the rise in Sea levels will make them homeless. It's been suggested they'll be the very first climate refugees.

We did that one. You're not going to answer my simple question either, are you?

Actually it occured to me that if we swapped the words "Global Warming" and "Snow" we would all agree.

Then we could say that there is more Global warming around than ten years ago and less snow.

So .... no dataset actually shows 18 years of flat temperatures and the Climategate mails contain no evidence of illicit data manipulation.

              Despite what was posted earlier.

So that was 2013, we're now in 2014, and still no end in sight,

must dash, there is someone at the door

My guess is its either a climate refugee or someone asking for 'water by request only'

                    You've answered a different question.

With a news item from 'CNS News'.

                    Which is flat wrong.

Using datasets of actual temperatures recorded by the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies (NASA GISS), the United Kingdom’s Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research at the University of East Anglia (Hadley-CRU), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), satellites measuring atmospheric and deep oceanic temperatures, and a remote sensor system in California, [John] Christy found that “all show a lack of warming over the past 17 years.”
I plotted the NASA data earlier. Christy curates the UAH dataset so he should know better, here's the last 18 years.

Shall I repeat the question for you? Which dataset shows no warming for 18 years? They're all available from woodfortrees.org
