The thing with polls is that the results are very heavily dependent on how you ask or phrase the question and how the results are then interpreted.
The old lies, damn lies and statistics line pops into mind every time I see someone post polling results, even more-so when you consider all of the scandals that have arisen from the warmist lobby many of whom have a financial axe to grind by perpetuating the AGW beliefs.Comment

No, I am agreeing with you, in an ironic post-normal science kinda way. From what I've read, Dawson would probably have insisted that they walk over the ice back to base camp, using the more portly team members as a food source. Apparently Husky Dog liver has toxic levels of vitamin A, which causes delirium and probably caused the death of one of Mawson's fellow explorers. Spirit of Mawson, sure, but in moderation.
While we're on contradictions.... what makes Mawson a heroic, pioneering scientific explorer and these guys mere party going eco-loons?My subconscious is annoying. It's got a mind of its own.Comment

Why do I call them eejits ?
Years and years ago, when I were a lad, we had the Soviet Union and the Berlin wall.
We had socialist workers, Trots and all sorts.
There was a real fear that the world would end in a nuclear fireball, and we had a real enemy, albeit in a cold war.
When the Berlin wall came down, we discovered what the Soviets thought of our socialists and trots. our 'enemy within'
They called them 'useful Idiots'
The same people are still here, but the Berlin wall has come down so they are no longer useful.
Rather than call them 'useless idiots' I use the shorthand 'eejits'(\__/)

Unbelieveable
now the rescue ship with the passengers on board is nearly stuck. slowed down to a quarter of a knot at the moment.
Still, at least it is an icebreaker, so it has a chance.
