The point about how much Brand earns is irrelevant. He earns the money he does because a large demographic thinks that dressing like a cartoon pirate, fcking anything he can and using word you wouldn't normally attribute to an ex-heroin addict is something to aspire to.


Edit: Having heard him being interviewed recently (not by paxman) I'm not of the opinion that he's an idiot. Fame hungry, yes. Idiot, no.

The world economy was damaged just as much by feckless governments as by bankers. This money or false money has ended up in the pockets of the small percentage of people who are very rich of which Brand is one of them.

He's not that rich though. If he joined the cabinet he wouldn't be the richest person in it.

Because Paxman is not an idiot, did show business get a huge bailout from taxpayers after almost destroying the world economy?

I saw the interview. Paxman wasn't beaten. There was no real content from brand, for Paxman to break apart. It was childish self aggrandising from Brand.

He bangs on about his drug addiction but Brand wasnt a sink estate junkie, he was a will self type of junkie, initially into the gear for artistic reasons and well able to fund his habit. He's rewriting his history to authenticate his current position as self appointed representative of the working class. He wouldn't last two minutes on a sink estate.

Brand is top of the pops culture.
