Because you don't need a big car? Because it is more economical than a big car? Because £3k will get you a newer small car than a big car?

    Hardly complicated...

This thread is not about generic small or cheap cars. It's about the Toyota Aygo. There may be many very good small cheap cars available, but that isn't one of them.

A new Fiat Panda costs, well, not much more than a bumper bag of wine gums, and it's about a thousand times better.

Have you bought cars recently. £3k will buy you a lot more (in ways of younger, better spec) big car than small car.

Considering your benchmark seems to be the 500 which is not cheap, and you drive a Jag, you may not be best placed to comment on cheap stuff

Really? So you can get me a newer Avensis for £3k than you can a Yaris? A newer mondeo than a fiesta? A newer Audi A4 than a Ford Focus.

Balls you can. Small cars cost less new than big cars, therefore they sell for less.

The 500's got the same engine as a cheap and cheerful Panda, and it's a much better engine than that piece of crap.

Anyway I refuse to believe a car Sas would buy would be crap or cheaply made. He's a man of means AND refinement, don't you know.

This was a man who wanted to buy a Daihatsu Copen. I think that proves the prosecutions case.

                    ^ This ^

Certain large cars also tend to lead a charmed life as third car/toy unlike most small cars that are bought for teenagers to get their insurance out of the millions

D000hg you can't be helped mate

If you are seriously telling me you want to drive a crappy little toyota instead of some of those Jags then you need to need to hand your contractor badge in with Kenty

                      Correct.

Bigger cars depreciate quicker as there is greater demand for small cars because of the cheapness to run/insure by younger drivers.
