This thread is not about generic small or cheap cars. It's about the Toyota Aygo. There may be many very good small cheap cars available, but that isn't one of them.

Considering your benchmark seems to be the 500 which is not cheap, and you drive a Jag, you may not be best placed to comment on cheap stuff
Have you bought cars recently. £3k will buy you a lot more (in ways of younger, better spec) big car than small car.

Correct.
Bigger cars depreciate quicker as there is greater demand for small cars because of the cheapness to run/insure by younger drivers.
