That would be because some insurance rates have halved in the past year.merely at clientco for the entertainment -
Although the fact there was a police car and you didn't notice it are bad signs...Originally posted by d000hg View PostGeneralisations are not always appropriate. 120 on a motorway where you're overtaking traffic and there are sliproads is one thing. 120 where you can see a stretch of road 1 mile ahead and know for sure there are no cars is another.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

pah I regularly do a ton wearing out the m56.Originally posted by bless 'em all View PostIf you were doing 100mph in a 60 then it's not looking good.
What sort of road was it?
TBH anyone doing that kind of speed anywhere deserves to receive a ban IMHO.
However I never do over 70 when it is busy or the coppers about.Comment

in the old days you could buy an insurance policy to cover you against a ban, and it would pay out for a driver for you while you were banned. not seen it advertised for years so i guess its not available now.Comment

Call me old fashioned but anyone caught drink driving or going over 100mph deserves a very long ban.
There no excuse for it. It might be funny or cool to some of you youngsters on here but its not so funny when people get killed on the motorway.
Few mph over the speedlimit fair enough but doing a ton aint done accidentally is it?Rhyddid i lofnod psychocandy!!!!Comment

Is doing 100mph particularly less safe than 95mph?Originally posted by psychocandy View PostCall me old fashioned but anyone caught drink driving or going over 100mph deserves a very long ban.

Is doing 95 on a motorway when it's empty comparable to doing 45 outside the school gates at 430? The problem with speed is it doesn’t take into account circumstances. That’s why (in my opinion) we need more cops, and less cameras …Originally posted by MyUserName View PostIs doing 100mph particularly less safe than 95mph?
But then I've been caught 100+

no but you have to draw the line somewhere and 100mph seems a sensible place for an automatic ban. 95 would depend on conditions and open to discretion.Originally posted by MyUserName View PostIs doing 100mph particularly less safe than 95mph?
Like all offences its complex, you may be driving perfectly safely at 100mph on a clear road in a car designed to do it or you could be in thick fog at 59 in a moggy minor on the A303. One is an offence the other is just stupid.Comment

Why is 100mph illegally done on a deserted motorway more dangerous than 130mph done legally on a reasonably busy autobahn?Originally posted by psychocandy View PostThere no excuse for it. Of course, I agree. But I can't see many circumstances where 100mph is acceptable anyway.Originally posted by Jeebo72 View PostIs doing 95 on a motorway when it's empty comparable to doing 45 outside the school gates at 430? And don't give me the crap about open road, visibility etc. We all know that you regularly see people doing 100mph about 10 meters behind tailgating a car in the outside lane.Rhyddid i lofnod psychocandy!!!!Comment
