If I strut about dressed like a porn star, is it because I'm confident and comfortable in my sexuality?

So... you're in favour of a balance, as am I. But having young kids (especially daughters) has skewed my view, not of what should be on sale, but of what should be visible in a public place. It's fine to say things can be explained to them, but it is nice to try to preserve some innocence until they have the emotional capacity to process difficult issues.
Well, of course I don't want to allow nasty images of kids, necrophiles and so to be shown to young kids; I'm not that wierd. As I said, if you have a false dichotomy of everything being censored and nothing being censored, I'd prefer nothing to be censored. But I think the issue of lads mags is being blown out of proportion, especially in Britain, which still seems to have a complicated relationship with sex and young people, given the relatively high number of teenage pregnancies and divorces. I grew up in a few different countries, including Switzerland, and visited Germany a lot; in Germany in the 70s and 80s, hardcore porn mags were on open display at streetside newsagents and it wasn't difficult for kids to buy them. I don't believe it's really the big cause of problems; I think there are probably other, more important factors in some of the trouble you see in Britain. I just don't quite know what they are, but it strikes me that some societies with very liberal approaches to sexual issues actually have less trouble with rape, STDs, teenage pregnancy and so on.

Not necessarily. Maybe, maybe not; meaningless question really.

Oh come off it; you make your own choices. Do I dive in and give the Mrs a quicky without considering her desires or do I charm her, tease her, treat her like the beautiful laydee she is and bring her into ecstasy etc etc...? Do I eat another pie or go out for a bike ride? Do I piss my money down the drain on some 'miracle fat-away cream' or do I get myself into shape? Do I consider it all that important, or would I rather read a good book or go to the theatre and learn something?

Really these are your own choices and the consequences are for you; I make my choices and I'm pretty happy with life but I wouldn't pretend that my choices are right for you.

Of course you don't. But why not? Shouldn't I see it as an opportunity to explain the rights and wrongs of it?

Well, as I said, if you'd been in Germany in the 70s or 80s (or even now I think) you'd have seen pretty hardcore images openly displayed in newsagents and kids could see them; I saw them. At some stage my parents did 'the talks' that many parents find difficult and it helped me to understand what I was seeing and in what context I should see it. Seems to have worked for most people who were there.

I'm not sure what your argument is. It's hardly controversial to posit that the majority of American/Western people are unhappy with their appearance and that feeds directly into confidence which is a major issue in terms of viewing your sexual performance.
