thing is this whole thing is based on the fact that men only go the gym to oogle women

sorry to flag this ladies but that is bollux -

there is nothing intimate or sexy about watching a 16 stone bird on a treadmill

in which case then we can have equal sessions or two separate rooms with segregation.

Its either equal or its not.

If you are worried about being ogled then dress appropriately (both sexes) if its actually occurring then ask the staff to intervene.

same assertion if you want to pay for it you can have it. So self funded men only golf courses are fine.

      DA I'm big all over!

There are women who go to ladies only sessions who would not otherwise go to the gym. These ladies feel uncomfortable exercising with men for many reasons whether justified or not. The point is that the ladies only sessions mean they are doing exercise they would not otherwise be doing. To close that opportunity to argue a political point seems a bit mean spirited.

As for council funded gyms, I imagine the council have targets to meet in trying to reach groups who would not otherwise go to the gym.

I don't know, so may be wrong, but I suspect the majority of ladies only sessions are off-peak when the gym would otherwise not be busy.

I'm struggling to understand the objection.

If the result of abolishing ladies only sessions was reduced gym membership and therefore increased prices, would you still be for it?

The objection seems to be that men and women are charged the same price but the men get 10% less access to the gym.

Lets contrive an example of something similar. Lets say you pay your road tax, and although you pay the same amount as everyone else, you're not allowed to drive on Friday afternoons because you are a girl and some men don't like sharing the road with lady drivers. Is that fair?
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

That's it but I would ban it on Monday mornings on school runs, traffic would be so much better.

I will generously allow you to ban males on Sunday afternoons in recompense, that should get the doddery 70 year olds off the road. Women can drive back from Sunday lunch!

No, they can expect to choose if they want to remain members or not. I can't believe I have to explain capitalism to YOU.

The obvious course of action is to boycott such blatantly sexist organizations. That's my excuse for avoiding the gym and I'm sticking to it.
