I like Old Greg's phrase for this:Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostWhy resort to that kind of assumption?
Because they disagree with you?
Non-religious bigotsMy mind has gone blank. I wonder if it was always that way.

I am pretty surprised... I thought virtually everyone would support it.Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostIt's interesting that one third are against. Gurdwara
If not they always translate it to Temple for non Sikhs and commonly use Temple when talking in English. The Signage is Sikh Temple then"Gurdwara X".
I doubt most of us are Sikh it makes any sense to use the native word.Comment

Excluding a portion of society based on something they are born and who don't break the law, is in my mind irrational. Same as excluding someone because of their race.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostWhy resort to that kind of assumption?

Yes, quite a few of us have mulled that one over. Have you had her eyesight tested, and at the very least, a quick check of her marbles done?Originally posted by Old Hack View PostI still don't know how I lucked out that my wife wanted to marry me

I've yet to hear one, which is because there isn't one, which is also true for racism.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View Post...until someone gives a rational explanation for their opposition to gay marriage?Comment

The first bit is correct. I haven't heard what I would consider a good rational argument against gay marriage either, but I am open to reason. I don't assume that if I haven't heard a good reason, that there isn't one. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.Originally posted by proggy View PostI've yet to hear one, which is because there isn't one, which is also true for racism. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument?
